Welcome: The group was welcomed by Brittany Sullivan. She commented on how great the turnout was at this meeting.

Principal’s Report: Dr. Etlen started by thanking last year’s 6th grade committee for their generous donation of a bottle filling station and televisions for the cafeteria. These tvs will be used to display photos and announcements much like the tv at the front entryway of the school. He read a letter from the Highland staff thanking the PTO for this year’s classroom donations.

Upcoming events: Halloween, Wednesday 10/31. The parade will be held at 9:15am and classroom parties will begin at 2:30pm. Non-Violent Conflict Resolution week, week of 11/5. American Education Week, week of 11/12. You DO NOT need your clearances to attend American Education Week.

Treasurer’s Report: The teacher’s gifts were the largest September expense. The McClure fund scholarship was also given to a Highland Alumni who is pursuing a career in education. We had some income from PTO membership fees, assignment books and the apparel table at the picnic. See attached files for more detailed information.
