Our Mission and Goals
Our mission and goal at the Highland PTO is to help students and their families have a wonderful experience at Highland Elementary by supplementing the academic programs. We have a lot planned for this year, and we look forward to working with you to make our events and activities fun for the entire Highland family.
What You Can Do
The Highland PTO needs your financial support. You can do this by supporting our fundraisers and by joining the PTO. Our dues are $10 a year per family. You can join the PTO at the Highland open house or by sending the form and dues to school with your child in an envelope marked “PTO Dues”.
What Your Support Enables
PTO dues and funds raised support many activities and programs for students, their families, teachers and staff including:
- Classroom parties
- Class trips
- School assemblies
- Briar Bush acorn program
- Vocabulary parade
- Highland’s field day
- Highland’s publishing center and Paw Prints
- Family fun nights
- Highland spring fling
- Science fair and Science day
- Teacher and staff appreciation
- and, much more
Finally, communication is important. We need your participation, input and suggestions. If you can volunteer please let us know. Two hours per parent per year can make a big difference. If you have any questions or concerns, please come to our meetings or contact a member of the executive board.
