Volunteer Breakfast – May 4th
Our volunteers will be recognized with a “May the 4th Be With You” breakfast on Friday, May 4th, 8:30 AM, Highland’s Faculty Room. If you have not already responded, please do so as soon as possible to Ms. Smith

5th and 6th Grade Social-May 4th
5th and 6th graders are invited to a totally awesome 80s party on Friday, May 4th from 6:30-8:30. Cost is $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Questions? Contact kellypennekamp@hotmail.com

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon – May 8th

The Teacher Appreciation Luncheon will be on Tuesday May 8th. We will be doing a few things during the week as well. If you would like to help with decorations, food, or your time, please contact Allison Cofone
at Acofone@gmail.com. A sign-up for food will be posted to the Highland Facebook page as well.

Highland Field Day- May 11th

Parents and families are invited to watch and cheer as students from all grades participate by grade level in
outdoor activities.

Highland PTO Meeting – May 14th
All PTO members are encouraged to attend the PTO meeting on May 14th at 9 am in the cafeteria. Lots of exciting things coming up; come out and see how you can get involved!

2nd annual Read-a –thon-May 14th to 29th
Please look for family packets with instructions and reading logs to come out with information in the upcoming week. There are chances to win a prize as an individual OR as a class. This is one of our biggest
fundraisers so we appreciate all support!

Highland Art and Ice Cream Social- May 23rd

Students and families are invited to art festival and ice cream social on Wednesday, May 23rd from 6:30-8:00 pm. Please enter building through the playground.

Attention sixth grade parents!
All incoming 7th grade students need to have had a meningococcal (MCV) vaccine and a Tetanus, diphtheria,,acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine if 5 years have elapsed since their last tetanus vaccine. Students will be excluded from school on September 12th if we have not received documentation of your child having received these vaccines by then. Please submit them to the Health Suite as soon as possible. 7th grade students also
need a physical and dental exams, as per Pennsylvania state requirements. If you do not have the forms that were sent home earlier this school year, they are available at http://www.abington.k12.pa.us/pupil/Tips.html. Please call Ms. Marino or Ms. Kress at 215-884-1048 x3 with any questions!

Service Learning Hours
Dear Parents and Students. It’s that time of the year for your service to be counted. Service Learning forms are due Tuesday, April 24th. Please see Ms. Park or Mrs. Campana for Service learning forms, if you need
them. Please write your name, grade, age, and total hours on the log as clearly as possible.
